The girls and I met for our usual Thursday lunch at the newly opened WyWy restaurant in Lambak. Apparently there is also a WyWy restaurant in Kuala Belait at Pandan 5 and Sengkurong, exactly where in Sengkurong, someone would have to enlighten me. We wanted somewhere fresh to go, and Wywy, located at the same building as NorAlizah & Iskandar House of Curry and TAIB, met our basic criteria of having a pleasant enough outside seating. The restaurant was packed, which is usually a good sign, so we settled into our seats and had a look at the menu. A looong look at the menu, which is a large, heavy, thick menu with large colour pictures. 15 minutes later we were still undecided over what to eat, or drink. WyWy's menu is extensive. Seriously. With a variety of drinks; blended juices, bubble teas, mocktails, shakes, pearl drinks, colourful drinks. Ditto Chinese Food; the usual suspects and then some. And Western Food; Burgers, Pizza, Salads, Sandwiches, Steaks, Pasta. Then Desserts galore. Plus Dim Sum. And Oyster Omelette! It reminded me of the menu at Excellent Taste in Gadong, a one-stop restaurant vibe, its food decent, its drinks colourful, and its not fine-dining.
Perhaps its a little teething problem, being that its fairly new, but we found the menu overwhelming and with the considerable lunch crowd that flocked to the place, it needs more waiters. The bill system requires the waiter to write down your orders, word for word, in a receipt book and place a copy on the table, while good for error-prone staff, was a tad time consuming for patrons who wanted their space. None of us raved about the food, and no one complained either and I must say that the Siew Mai from the Dim Sum menu was rather good. WyWy could be overwhelming for your first visit, but the restaurant is well designed and its ambience pleasant (its easy on the wallet too, given the large portions), so it looks like the Kittens and I would return.

We were minus one kitten.
Till next week chicas.
