I woke up this morning and thank God it's Thursday! Although DeeT was unable to join us today and is dearly missed, the five of us sat around the table and got along like we do. The venue was Portview and we always enjoy lunching there. Especially when it rains and sitting outside is cool and the view is almost wintry.
Kitten Snippets
1. There is a much better view of Kampong Ayer from where we sat without the big-ass needle on the anti-drug signage set against our water village. Although Avanza is tres better, do consider removing the signage totally.
2. We have tourists!
3. Our friend and fellow feline Woo is the loveliest mom. Noticeably frazzled today, she is heartbroken at the thought of her eldest leaving for a school trip abroad for a week. A week!! She says. Most of us are mothers so we can empathise. That worrisome feeling in your gut when your little chooks leave the nest for the first time is quite unpleasant. The truth is, and we all agreed, the child would be fine and he/she is going to have a good time and probably not going to miss you much anyway. But let's not go there. That's pretty heartbreaking too.
Woo wrote her son Em little notes on blue (because the white might go unnoticed) paper to place in strategic spots like his wallet and in his pockets. Little letters of motherly advice with plenty of love and kisses.
4. Kitten lunches soothe our soul, so we're not sure how we're going to cope for 4 weeks without it. And thereupon, plans were made for kitten suppers.
5. And last but definitely not least, To The Bride-To-Be Kitten: You can count on us to make sure you look your best, better than all the rest. To have a hen night that will be swell. To be at your disposal. To calm you down (and hold you down) when you turn into Bridezilla. Love, The Kittens xx
Till next week, for a last lunch before Ramadan...Purrrrrr xx
Hmmm..interesting rrr. Perhaps the powers that be can consider turning the signage into something positive, like a pretty 'Kampung Ayer' sign. Thanks for the visit.

for item 1
you were right, the horrible red anti drug with its super slogan dadah musnah and big needle set against the backdrop kg ayer is horrible. Even the municipal board hated it (though i dunno why they allowed it to be located there-ooo free! cos its sponspored halo-hint:the car company & advertiser company). Taking it down would be a big no-no cos it's the 'face' they need to consider.
