and its nice that we can put a voice to our faith.  I love hearing the Friday prayers ring throughout my neighbourhood.  Woke up this morning in the happiest of way and late.  But who cares 'cause we have a holiday today!  Gotta shower and think of what to have for lunch.  This is the view I have from my bed on this lovely Friday.

Meet The Fockers

Rarely do I disagree with my sifu, but we enjoyed the Fockers.  Dustin Hoffman is such a physical actor that he outdid ol' Bob Deniro and warm your tootsies in one fell swoop.  Babs fared well as the most popular woman in Florida Keys and you'll see why ;)  The young ones paid due deference to the masters in this sequel.  And the little kid, he's not all that bad.

Before I Lay Me Down To Sleep...

A leaflet was handed to us at the entrance before we drove into the movies.  This is what it has to say:

New Year's Eve

Following the recent tragic and devastating earthquake and tidal waves that struck neighbouring countries in the South Asian region on the 26 December 2004, please be informed that in respect to neighbouring countries , the Hotel will be cancelling all planned New Year's Eve events on the 31 December 2004 and January 1 2005.  The Empire Hotel joins the region in mourning the passing of the large number of victims that perished in the recent disaster and feels that celebrations are not in order at this time when prayers and support are much needed.

This decision was made following the announcement through the titah of His Majesty for all New Year celebration events to be cancelled nation wide.

The Empire Hotel will be operating as normal, both in terms of rooms as well as food and beverage, over the weekend and all guests who wish to spend the weekend at the Hotel are welcome to do so.  The Hotel will be donating a portion of the Hotel's revenue over the New Year's Eve weekend to a charity in support of the victims of the tsunami disaster.

Full refunds will be given to all guests who have purchased tickets to New Year's Eve proceedings at the Empire Hotel.  Refunds will only be processed from the 3 January 2005 to 15 January 2005 [Monday to Friday from 9:am - 7:00pm at The Main Lobby] to all guests who come forward to make their claims at the Hotel, after which, unclaimed funds will be donated along with the Hotel's donation in aid of the tsunami fund.

Just had dinner...and I know I sound like my mother when I say this but there is nothing more satisfying than cooking and feeding your loved ones.  We are going to the movies soon, Zubby is rallying everyone to watch 'The Fockers'.  Although my movie sifu JoBlo gave the movie 4/10, I shall reserve my views until I have actually seen it.

Phew.  Due to the absence of help, I had to clean the bathrooms, iron clothes, wash dishes, defrost lamb.  Well done me   Its amazing how domesticated we can be when we put our minds to it!

Its time for bed...

cos I'm pretty tired now.  I was checking my wireless signal so was perched on the side of the bath for about an hour smoking (not pooing Babs, NOT pooing!) in the loo.  BGesper Diva D is going through a rough time and I wish that I could physically be there for her.  But thank the Lord for MSN.  Its a brand new year in 2 days.  And I got a couple of resolutions I wanna try and keep in 2005.  Too beat to list them now, so later folks.

At home...

and have finally installed wireless network!  Didn't even have to pay the extra 30 bucks to get installed by the pros.

And waiting for the husband to come home from work, sitting on our bed that is so big that it looks like it could fly (and sometimes it could) looking outside to the pool and garden and feeling grateful for all that I have in my world.

Don't feel bad. Nobody explained it to me, either, and I must say I made quite an impression that first night with the honey and feathers. But now I'm hip. The significance of the birds and bees isn't what they do, it's simply that they do it, "it," naturally, being a tussle in the tumbleweeds, or wherever it is that the lower orders engage in sex. As such it's the perfect euphemism for a culture so prudish that even publishers of girlie magazines used to airbrush out the pubic hair.

Where exactly "the birds and the bees" originated nobody knows, but word sleuths William and Mary Morris hint that it may have been inspired by words like these from the poet Samuel Coleridge: "All nature seems at work ... The bees are stirring--birds are on the wing ... and I the while, the sole unbusy thing, not honey make, nor pair, nor build, nor sing." Making honey, pairing ... yes, we can definitely tell what Sam had on his mind.

The Morrises offer the theory that schools in years past taught about sex by "telling how birds do it and how bees do it and trusting that the youngsters would get the message by indirection." Right. Luckily for the perpetuation of the species, there's always been Louie in the schoolyard to explain how things really worked.

Rocks man.  Having smoke lunch with Babs and Zubby.  Babs and I are being nerdies trying to compete on how many friends we have on Friendster!  Saddos that we are.  Okay.  Enough being unsociable...let's eat.
