The Wind In The Willow

According to Oprah and her mate Dr Oz, passing gas is good for you and that the average person passes gas 14 times a day.  Dr Oz advises that we are to create a no embarrassment zone on farting because well, its no good keeping it all in.  I, for one, have extremely shy bowels and don't subscribe to the good doctor's new age policy.  Which is why I am a rather repressed cow I suppose.

Bobby on the other hand, often let loose at home.  And then blame it on whoever happens to be near. Sometimes its Mimi, and most times, its Willow the cat.

The other day Mimi let out some wind and I said to her, "Who farted in here??" and she promptly answered, "CAT".  

It looks like I'm losing this battle.

Speaking of signs, I went to the ObGyn late yesterday afternoon to check up on some pain I had on the left side of my lower abdomen. At first I wasn't really sure whether to make an appointment with the normal doctors but then I had a feeling it had something to do with my female bits so I asked for ObGyn and got my call put through. I asked the receptionist nicely whether it was appropriate to visit my Gynae even though I am NOT WITH CHILD. I think she didn't quite hear me, so when I turned up for my appointment everyone was full of smiles and congratulatory words. Poor things, I did so hate to disappoint them with a mere fluid-filled cyst diagnose.

So yeah, its not a sign after all...

Look folks, it's Wednesday. It's the middle of the week and its looking like ages till Friday evening, so bear with the inane post alright.

A Weekend Muse

Its just Mimi, Azim and me this weekend. Beloved Husband Bob is in Labuan with SP and a whole bunch of other guys on a stag junket. Whilst a stag weekend is celebrated by the groom and his mates to bid farewell to the single life in true neanderthal style, and Labuan may not be Phuket but it is another country. Its easy and inexpensive enough to get there by boat so its a destination for those in Brunei who are looking for unrestricted fun. And to prove it, Bobby's been to two this year.

I stayed home and watched the children and took some pictures.

Mimi will be seven months soon. We started her on pureed vegetables, fruits and rice. She loves her food and she is her father's daughter after all. It was only a few months ago she was a teeny little thing in loose romper suits. I blinked and now look who's wearing her first pair of jeans?

And now its time for bed.

Team Aniston Unveals Headquarters In Jerudong!

I took a picture of resident swallows Ross and Rachel (renamed to appease Team Aniston) sitting in a tree outside our balcony.

I've all but forgotten about the whole 'Team Aniston vs Team Jolie (is Jen a sheming bitch or is Angie a stealer of husbands?) saga. Until I was reminded that Angelina is a husband snatching tart at a family function Friday evening by a family member who objected to my naming our swallows, Brad & Angelina.

I can be contrite, so here is my attempt at rehabilitation:

Our Resident Swallows

Ever since we've moved to our new home, I've noticed a pair swallows flying about during the day and returning in the evening to settle in the eaves of our garage. They used to have a tiny bird's nest but that nest have fallen a few months back. Now they huddle together at night, surrounded by lizards, who gets a bit too close but don't seem to bother them.

Last Saturday I spotted just the lone bird sleeping under our eaves. Upset that our swallow seemed to have lost its mate, for the past few days I've been moaning to Bobby, "It's a sign! It's a sign!!. Poor Bob couldn't make head or tail of it, now getting used to having a drama queen for a wife. So he was happy to report today there were the two of them again happily nestling in our garage. I must say I have a rather romantic view of the swallows than say, Kantalensa, who licks his lips and thinks of soup when he sees his resident's birdnest.

A Letter To My Body

[I subscribe to BlogHer, the community for women who blog. I know that seems a cliche but no man woman is an island. Anyway, their monthly newsletter alerted me to a community essay written by several members titled 'A Letter To Your Body'. I thought I'd do mine here.]

Dear Body,

Its been almost 6 months since you have given birth. That's not a very long time ago, considering you were growing another person in your womb for 9 months. But according to some people, you should have lost that thickened waist, fat ass, big arms and shrunk back to your pre-pregnancy weight by now. In fact, the same people suggests that you hold a JUMBLE SALE and sell off your old clothes, cos baby, it looks like you're NEVER gonna lose that weight. Its a pity that you are not an over-achiever when it comes to exercise and dieting but is one when it comes to all things frivilous. Like finishing Call of Duty on the xbox in 2 days. Or honing the ability to memorise songs in 2 shakes of a duck's tail.

So listen up. We have a beach holiday to go to in 3 weeks time. That's 21 days to get your ass in beach body beautiful shape, buddy. It seems like a tall order I know, but we must at least try. Because if not, go ahead wave the white flag and buy clothes A SIZE LARGER...'sup to you.

Now the boob area we can do with a size larger.
